For a music video we shot half of our music video on location we thought because our genre is indie rock a urban scenery would compliment and represent it well so we went into our nearest town when it was dark and thousands of single frame photos. Reason that we try to do single frame photos was to give it a bit more of an edge and an interesting look as they are an indie band they are a little bit different and we thought that this would pair well with the genre.
In our music campaign we chose to represent our lead singer in a rebellious fashion to go in line with our indie rock genre one way in which we helped to represent this was through our use of single farm camera work that we did on location we did this to create a sense of urgency and chaos playing into the rebellious stereotype. It is common for younger people in media to be portrayed as antisocial and this was also shown through the use of location and time of shooting as we shot at night and there were jumping over things suggesting their anti-social behaviour. In terms Digi Pak we went in further with the rebellious stereotype it includes images of them out at night also the font is similar to the graffiti style hinting at them being unruly, however as our band would attract a younger audience, we did not want to make the images to intense as we wanted to it to appeal to parents who would buy it for their kids. There age was father represented through the use of their social media we wanted to include things that were related to the times one post included a screenshot of a covid test and this created a sense of the band wanting to look after their community and also show how important it is for people to test often which reflects their generation Z mindset. We kept the bands social media rather light and fun as we wanted to draw in our target audience and we didn't want it come across too serious This further reflects there age in the sense that they don't take life too seriously and they just want to have fun.
The bands star persona was very outgoing, rebellious and a little bit quirky. for our logo of our band, we wanted to create something that was quite simple but could stand out and be iconic, we wanted to merge the genre and also the band image. we did a lot of research into other bands who had similar music and we studied there logo and noted things that stood out this helped us in piecing together our logo we wanted it to use and represent the stereotypes off our band to really help sell it the bull one the front suggests danger, rebellious behaviour, high energy and an out-of-control nature, however on the other side the roses placed on the bulls head suggests a sense of calming and peace this side gravitates more to the Indie part of the genre and states that even though they are an all boy rebellious band that they are kind and can be calm and peaceful. Dyer star believed that the way that the band is perceived is constructed by reminding the audience off their visual image of the band for this we had to make sure that all our branding was consistent throughout all of our products including our music video our digipak and also our social media, throughout we wanted to continue the themes of rebellious behaviour. For our music video it is common for young artist in rock genres to be very high energy we represented this through our short duration shots throughout the video which helped tie in our branding with our logo which had the bull also representing this, also in the way they dressed we wanted our band too look trendy and with the times and also relatable as they are a young band and their target audience is younger adults so their costumes are quite simple but also trendy. The way in which we represented our branding in our social media was that we kept our band’s Twitter an Instagram very light-hearted we wanted to give off a sense of a high energy funny teenage persona which trickled through all of our individual products.

As a new band it was important that we followed conventions, we did a lot of research into our products before we created them we looked at other bands similar to ours who had been successful and took inspiration from things that they had created, this included are for products I was social media or music video our digipak and our merchandise. All digipak I looked at three different bands Arctic Monkeys the killers and the strokes these were all bands that followed a similar genre to our band their artwork heavily influenced the way we did our digipak a lot of their artwork was quite simple there wasn't a huge amount going on and there was usually a focus on one thing that's what we took for our own we had one image that had the main focus plus our band name and the title of the album. Our music video we did heavy research into four bands who again had the same genre and we looked this time specifically at songs that followed a similar vibe these bands were the Arctic Monkeys the strokes, cage the elephant and finally the two door cinema club I analysed each of these videos in great detail looking at what they were wearing looking at different types of props looking at locations, we also took in consideration how the band members were placed and well then make up was like we took notes on the bands demeanour how they were interacting with each other how the bands videos were edited what the lighting was like how the camera moved how the camera picked up what they were doing what types of shots they were using all of this research was used to influence our end video, we took a lot of inspiration mainly from bands the Arctic Monkeys and the strokes as this is the sort of look we wanted to go for in terms of our music video we very much used the classic conventions of an indie rock band we didn't stray four out of the conventions and we rarely challenged them in the video side of things. We looked at the theorist Andrew Goodwin we used the theory of disjunction are videos visual did not run in parallel with the lyrics we chose to do this as it is more common for indie rock videos to go away from illustration videos as it is important to show the band as a band playing together and it's hard to follow a narrative when this is something that you need to include. We also studied the social media of guns and roses we looked at how they marketed and used branding in their social media leading up to an event we also looked at how they interacted and engaged with their audience to help excel their product here we really use the conventions of classic indie band we discussed matters different to music we had lots of personal posts directed at the band we wanted our post to consistently be different to one another so it would be more interesting for the audience we also wanted to reach the right type of people so we used hashtags that would stereotypically be used in this type of setting to help reach the audience that we want to have.
